This is an extrait de parfum, so use sparingly as the concentration is 25%. It has a great longevity (an average of 12h)
The origin of Under My Skin
Under My Skin is my interpretation of the animalic theme. I was charmed by strong animalic scents, and I tried to do my own; but I had to realize that what I like in other’s creations is not necessarily what I like to create myself.
So after adding animalic materials going into the heavy or sweet or stable-like direction, I had to eliminate them little by little, and arrive to this solution which suits me the best: a leathery, slightly animalic, powdery one, a velvety and elegant take. It goes along with my personality and my style and when I finally realized that this was my way, I was finally happy and relieved.
The name comes from a conversation with an artist and fragrance lover, who said it is as if the scent emanates from the skin. This concept of ‘Under My Skin’ reinforced my path of going into something more subtly ’human’ than overtly ‘animal’. The core of the scent is a combination of animalic and leathery notes tamed by iris butter (at 15% irone!). After working on this core, I worked on the base notes, made up by Tolu Balsam, Peru Balsam, Tonka Bean and several kind of woods.
Last step of the job was the opening, where I used grapefruit and lavender. I used to be a ‘Lavender hater’: but here it plays a subtle and elegant part. I was amazed how nicely it matched this scent, adding brightness and elegance.

I then bought a big bottle of Sex & the Sea, which I liked best (but the decision was not an easy one). it also arrived very fast. i am now continuing to enjoy what is left of my frequently used samples and it is very likely that I will come back to Francesca for more/ samples of her two new fragrances. The opening is very strong, too strong for me, but after 30 minutes, the scent is addictive.
Make sure you don’t spray it too close from your skin though.
Smells extremely sexual, almost like puss* during sex in hot weather.
It is a dirtier version of Sex and the Sea, which is very sexual too but in a more ‘out of the shower’, tropical way.
The projection is pretty regular (1m-2m) so you can still wear it in the day time but be prepared to get some comments, looks and people getting closer to you lol.
The sillage is great and the scent stays on my skin for 8-10 hours.
Can be feminine as masculine, I don’t particularly like it on clothes, I feel like it’s really something to be worn on skin. Can’t wait to try the oil version.

I LOVE this fragrance! Under My Skin makes your body radiate with a heady intoxicating scent that is possibly one of the most incredible aromas I’ve ever had the pleasure to smell. The fragrance envelops you from the first spray with its combination of beautiful notes, which over the course of the wear (which is infinite by the way) almost feels like another heart beat throbbing under your skin. In some ways, this fragrance smells like a sexual encounter you are yet to experience, a secret liason, or the meeting of two kindred souls, and as such exudes an erotic and sensual haze all around you. Yet, at the same time, there is a comforting but mysterious familiarity to this scent. I have no doubt in my mind that I will also purchase the sublime oil. What I Love
This perfume captures the true “from the skin” essence, feeling like a warm, personal aura rather than a loud projection. The leathery heart is refined and blends seamlessly with spices and subtle animalics. The fragrance is genuine complex and unfolds beautifully in the dry down enveloping you. Longevity is impressive, lingering 10+ hours on skin. It in essence being a skin scent, I did not try it on fabric.
What I like less
The powdery iris and vintage-leaning vibe sometimes feels a touch too cosmetic to me.
Final Thoughts
Under My Skin is an artistic, sensual scent that’s perfect for cooler evenings when you want something sophisticated and evolving. Highly recommended for niche lovers, but to be sampled first if powdery scents are not your thing.

A contrast between creamy, sweet, and relaxing notes and bolder, animalic, yet still sweet and slightly smoky, and a hint of airy (balsamic) notes, instils interest and a beautiful sense of allure. This lingers for hours, expressing itself differently, with the alternating prevalence of the different aspects contained within the ambivalence of the base creation.
