The idea was to create a fragrance that embodies the core essence, or DNA, found in all of my creations. I wanted this scent to act not just as a standalone fragrance but as a booster — a product you can layer to amplify the presence and projection of other perfumes.
This booster can be used in multiple ways. If you have a scent that feels too subtle or lacks projection, you can spray this on top or underneath to give it a powerful boost and enhance its diffusion.
Designed with versatility in mind, it carries the signature animalic touch of Francesca, paired with facets of iris.
If worn alone, it offers a simpler, more straightforward essence compared to the usual complexity of Francesca’s main perfumes. It’s designed to elevate and enhance, yet remains easily wearable on its own, with a soft and comforting character.
This is an experiment, the idea is going to develop and maybe end up in a catalog edition.

I waited patiently for every second until my order arrived—and it was worth it! The Essence is a captivating blend of sweet animalic and leathery notes. The touch of amber adds the perfect warmth, making it absolutely irresistible. I paired it with Sticky Fingers, and I’m completely in love. A stunning combination!

Worn on its own, this is wonderful. It shares something of the animalic oud-like feel of both Voluptuous Oud and Encounters, but doesn’t have any of the candied sweetness of the former or the smooth iris of the latter. I’m really enjoying this. I haven’t tried layering it with any of Francesca Bianchi’s other perfumes yet: I’ve never felt like Bianchi’s creations needed a boost, and I value their artistic creations in their own right. However, I have a hunch this would layer nicely with The Dark Side or with Angel’s Dust.

I layered it with another pricey leathery niche fragrance and … Oh my God. It was like it unlocked a brand new dimension to it. Darker, stronger (but in an interesting, not offensive way) and somehow sweeter. The experience was like using a 3D printer instead of a corporate 2D. This is treasure and I will experiment even more with it

This is a one-note leather scent, which, in hindsight, shouldn’t surprise me given the leather graphic on the label. Still, I’m disappointed; I expected something more layered. All of the Francesca Bianchi fragrances I own—Sex & the Sea, Sticky Fingers, and The Lover’s Tale—are beautifully animalic, and each is five-star, but none of them rely on leather as their animalic core. I was hoping for castoreum, musk, ambergris, and/or civet—something in line with the sensual sophistication I’ve come to associate with FB’s work.
I had planned to use this as a base to amplify the sensuality of other fragrances (Chanel N5 could use it), but leather on its own doesn’t really deliver that effect for me. Without the work of other animalics to give it depth and context, it feels more austere than erotic. On its own, it’s fine—but there are already so many fragrances built around leather-oud notes. Honestly, too many. It doesn’t bring anything new to the table.

This is a great scent, if you’re a fan of the base notes across all of FB’s perfume. I personally love it! It’s great on its own and helps enhance her other fragrances when paired together. It actually feels as if it lasts longer, meshing with your own personal body chemistry well into the day. It basically doesn’t come off until you shower. I really hope they eventually make this permanent!

A fawn buttocks, daring typically like F. Bianchi.

A powdery leather perfume. Easy to wear, both as a booster and a standalone. I find it very comfortable. It’s a dominant booster, so keep that in mind.

Cara Francesca, ho ricevuto questo profumo come regalo per il mio onomastico con l’obiettivo di implementare la mia collezione di tue creazioni. Credo sia la tua opera più profonda e dannatamente persistente. Riesco a sentirla ancora dopo lo shampo, sui capelli, e la ritrovo in auto dopo giorni dall’utilizzo. I found this in a niche perfume shop in Lisbon, never hearing of Francesca’s perfume’s before. It is an unusual leather scent. Now that I’ve smelled all of her perfumes I can see how this is a booster, how it has a common thread that could compliment her other fragrances. But I like wearing it by itself. It lasts two days on my skin! Something I can’t say about any other fragrance I own.
